Deer Hunter’s Widows Travel Deals

When I first moved to Wisconsin more than a decade ago I had no idea what a major impact deer-hunting season had on the state’s economy. Frankly, aside from the obvious self-explanatory definition, I had no idea what the heck deer-hunting season was all about. Boy, was I in for a shocker when the season rolled around and as a rookie television reporter I was sent out to cover story, after story, after story on every conceivable deer hunting angle that existed. It was only then that I learned what a “deer hunter’s widow” was.

Similar to a “golf widow” a deer hunter’s widow is the wife of an avid hunter. A hunter that typically spends all nine days of the gun deer season, away from his wife and kids in a cabin up north trying to bag a buck. Long ago savvy marketers pounced on the concept behind the “deer hunter’s widow” and designed events that would keep her happy while her husband was gunning for venison. EUREKA! A new travel package was born.

If you happen to be a deer hunter’s widow and have still not solidified your plans for the “holiday” consider some of these seasonal offers that are only good for a limited time:
