This week the dinner discussions are based on lesson 6 in most of the manuals. It is important to remember to keep the discussions upbeat and positive. It is a great way to reinforce the principles your children are learning at church.

It also shared the stories of Jesus spending time with the children in the New Testament and Jesus blessing the Nephite children in the Book of Mormon.

If you have a child between the ages of four and seven she learned about how the church was restored to the earth. The children talked about the First Vision. The children also discussed how the Priesthood was restored and the importance of being baptized under the proper authority. The children were encouraged to memorize Article of Faith 1:6.

If you have a child between the ages of eight and eleven he learned about the importance of baptism. The children discussed the baptism of Jesus Christ. They discussed the fourth Article of Faith and were encouraged to memorize it. The assigned reading for the week is Matthew 3:13-17.

If you have a child who is twelve or thirteen he learned about the importance of gaining a testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith. The children discussed the ways to gain a testimony, which include studying the scriptures and praying for a confirmation. The children also discussed the First Vision.

For all members over the age of fourteen the lesson was about Jesus calling the Twelve Apostles. The lesson first discussed how and when Jesus declared himself the Messiah. It then goes over how the twelve apostles were called and how they responded. It also discusses the things that they were taught by Christ. Next week’s reading is Mark 1-2, 4:35-41; and Luke7:11-17.

The Young Women learned about the importance of helping out around the house. The Young Men learned about the importance of Christlike service. The Relief Society and Priesthood lessons focused on Christ and his Atonement. Next week’s lesson will be “The Miracle of Forgiveness” which is lesson four in the manual.
