If you thought you wanted a Hawaiian vacation but the kids just had to go to Disney World, you’re in luck! At Walt Disney World’s Polynesian Resort, you get the best of both worlds – all the charms of Hawaii along with all the activities and excitement of Walt Disney World. The Polynesian Resort sits on the banks of Walt Disney World’s Seven Seas Lagoon and is surrounded by blooming gardens. Guests who check in are welcomed into a beautiful atrium complete with tropical flora and fauna as well as a waterfall.

There are 853 guest rooms at the Polynesian Resort. Guest rooms are in longhouses that are two and three stories each. First floor rooms have patios that extend into gardens and many of the upper story rooms have balconies. The rooms here are about 400 square feet each and are furnished with wicker, canopy beds and ceiling fans. Two queen beds and a daybed will comfortably accommodate a family of five. An infant in a crib may also be added to the guest count.

This resort offers great amenities for its guests like in room toiletries, 24-hour room service, turndown service (upon request), housekeeping, voice mail, valet parking, 24-hour gated security and concierge level rooms also provide concierge service which includes personalized front desk and guest services, complimentary robes, a phone in your bathroom, data ports, coffeemaker (upon request), pantry service (upon request), and a private lounge with continental breakfast, midday snacks, evening hors d’oeuvres, and evening cordials and dessert.

While there are several restaurants available for guests of the Polynesian: Kona Café, ‘Ohana and Captain Cook’s Snack Company, one of the most exciting dining options is the Polynesian-style dinner show held every Tuesday through Saturday evening at 5:15 and 8 pm in Luau Cove. This meal is an all you can eat affair of salads, roasted chicken, fish, pork, rice, sautéed vegetables, pineapple cake and assorted beverages including soda, coffee, iced tea, milk, beer, wine, or the house cocktail. The cost of this extravaganza is about $50 per adult and half that for kids but is well worth every penny. Be sure to make your dinner reservations when you make your lodging reservations. These shows fill quickly and far in advance.
