Dreams DO Come True!

At the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, the Magic Kingdom Park is about to become even more magical! One lucky family will be able to become fairy tale royalty and sleep in Cinderella’s enchanted castle for a night—every night throughout the Year of a Million Dreams. They are preparing a spectacular fairy tale suite inside Cinderella Castle. But what will these lucky winners discover inside?

Well, everything has been designed as though the guests were an honored visitor spending the night as a guest of Cinderella. Everything is done in the flavor of late 17th century French palace life. There is a concierge area off the breezeway with tapestries and a French desk. Then guests will enter the elevator, which has a mosaic crest from Cinderella’s carriage on the floor, and some pillowing on the walls, and that carries guests up to the suite. When the doors open, guests will find themselves in a lobby, with beautiful wooden walls and mosaics or scenes from the film worked in. On the floor, there is a full mosaic of Cinderella’s carriage. There are also display items, like Cinderella’s glass slipper.

When guests open the door to the suite, the first thing they see is a beautiful fireplace, stained glass windows, and a parlor. Some of the stonework was extended into the suite to incorporate the feel that you are staying in a castle, but to keep the feel warm, some walls are paneled with wood, and some with mirrors, which is both period-appropriate, and helps to expand the space. The goal was to remain true to the feel of the film, while still creating a space where a 21st century guest will still feel pampered. The suite contains two flat panel televisions, but they have been made to look like mirrors when they aren’t being used, and they can display a portrait of Cinderella. There are several stained glass windows, and hand made mosaics throughout the suite. The suite is scheduled to be completed very soon.
