It is now the middle of October. If the Fall weather hasn’t arrived where you live, it is likely to be there very soon. This is the type of weather that makes people want to use their crock-pots. It is also time to enter the Crock-Pot “Crock Star Confessions” Sweepstakes.
You might think that a sweepstakes by the company that makes Crock-Pot, “the original slow cooker”, would involve recipes, cooking, and photos of the food that you cooked in your crock-pot. There are several other sweepstakes going on right now do require people to cook food, and to submit their recipes to the company that is holding the sweepstakes.
However, Crock-Pot is doing something different. You don’t have to be an amazing chef in order to enter this sweepstakes. It doesn’t require you to cook anything at all! If you are on Facebook, then you can enter this contest.
First, go to the Facebook page for the “Crock Star Confessions” sweepstakes. The sweepstakes features someone called Sarah Darling. I had absolutely no idea who she was, so I looked it up. It seems that she is a country music singer from Iowa. To me, it is a complete mystery why a young country singer has become “the face” of the “Crock-Star” sweepstakes.
The very first thing you must do is click “like” on the Facebook page for the sweepstakes. This doesn’t actually enter you into the sweepstakes, though. To enter, you have to watch a short video. The official rules say that there will be 31 videos, and each one will feature one (of a total of 31), “Crock Stars”. There are 31 days in October, so I assume that this is why they selected 31 people to feature in the videos.
Pay attention to the video. You will be asked a question that relates to the video after it is over. You have to answer this question correctly in order to enter the sweepstakes. If you give the right answer, you will be automatically directed to another page, where there will be a form for you to fill out. The form wants your first name, last name, email address, and your birthdate. This gives you one entry into the sweepstakes.
To me, this sounds a bit tedious. You can actually do the entire procedure over and over again each day in October, if you want to. You can get exactly one entry each day in October. The contest ends on October 31, 2011.
The prizes could make all this hassle worth it, though. Every week, there will be one Third Prize Winner, (for a total of four). Each Third Prize Winner will receive a Crock-Pot Original Slow Cooker. There will be one Second Prize Winner, who will receive a Crock-Pot Brand Bundle. The “bundle” includes a slow cooker, a double dipper food warmer, a single dipper food warmer, tongs, turner, and ladle.
The First Prize Winner will get a Stainless Steel Small Kitchen Appliance Bundle. This “bundle” will include a slow cooker, a coffee maker, a blender, a vacuum sealer, and a toaster oven. The Grand Prize Winner will receive $2,500.
