Family Fun Facts Album

Scrapbookers are generally very good at capturing all of those big moments in life such as vacations, birthdays and milestones. But are you remembering to capture those important small details that tie your family together and make your family special?

Creating an album about what your family likes to do together, family favorites or favorite pastimes is a nice way to document the little things that make life special. Making an album that documents these special family traits does not need to take loads of time or products. I created a little accordion album that fits into a round tin in just one afternoon. I recommend using a small album to contain all of fun facts you want to share about your family.

I’d like to share the album I made with you and give you tips so that you can create one of your own. Here is the cover of the album titled “Fun Facts About Our Family.”

When altering objects such as this tin case, I recommend using modge podge to attach the paper to the tin. First apply a thin layer of the glue to the tin and then rub the paper onto the tin. Once the glue has dried, then coat the paper with 2-3 more coats for glue to help seal the paper to the tin.

For the inside pages, I picked a different fact about our family for each paper and then wrote the details about that fact. I included a few pictures, but mainly used journaling to convey the message I wanted to share.

Some examples of topics that you might want to cover in a family fun facts album are:

Favorite Restaurants

Favorite Vacation Places

Favorite Things to do Together

Favorite Traditions

Some other facts that I included were about our birthplaces, color of all of our eyes and favorite pizza orders from our top 3 pizza restaurants.

Use your imagination and have fun coming up with topics that apply to your own family.

(The album tin, black accordion pages and the patterned paper I used in the kit all came from the Scrapbook Circle September monthly scrapbooking kit.)
