Find Your Passion

What’s your passion? Do you know? Over the years, my husband and I have struggled with everything from finances to friends to family illness and more, but I’ve never really struggled with my passion. I’ve always known what I love to do and I always make a point of creating time for it, even if I have to work my rear off to make it happen.

For a long time, he didn’t have a passion. He used to call it being without a goal, but it wasn’t lacking goals that he lacked – it was lacking something he could passionately enjoy. But what we discovered over time – what we learned that he enjoys most – he enjoys his friends. He enjoys social engagements and getting to know people whether it’s over dinner, drinks or a canoe racing down the rapids.

Understanding Your Passion

Couples who become dissatisfied with their lives may experience that dissatisfaction not because they don’t care for their partner anymore, but because they lack something to add spark and passion to their own lives.

Let’s be honest, the constant cycle of household chores, bills, kids and errands can erode even the most dedicated person’s good cheer. If they have nothing to feel passionate about and engage in on their own time, they may start to wonder why they bother doing this same thing over and over and over again.

My passions are writing, creating and learning. Seriously, I love to write and I love going to school and I love working with others when they are learning too. When I make time for these pursuits, it makes me happier, when I’m happier, I’m a better person to be around, I bring more to the table and to the marriage. My husband is the same way.

So – what are you passionate about?
