Fitness Is Good for Your Health

fitness

While many of us look at fitness as a way to lose weight or tone up, we cannot underestimate another benefit to it. Fitness is good for your health. The reason I think this is important to focus on is because there are many out there who have tried fitness and for whatever reason, it hasn’t led to significant weight loss.

Sometimes it is a matter of metabolism, your age or if you are a woman, going through a hormonal stage such as menopause. There are times, particularly once you get older, that losing weight becomes difficult no matter how much you exercise.

What happens is that many people then give up. They figure there is no point in spending the time to exercise if they aren’t going to see results.

But let’s not be so quick to abandon fitness simply because we aren’t seeing the results we would like to. Even if you don’t lose weight, you are helping to ward off the harmful consequences of not exercising.

Many studies have been done that link fitness to a reduction in conditions such as stroke, heart disease, diabetes and even arthritis.

It is also good for your mental health. You feel better about yourself and more motivated. When you have a fitness routine it gives you more energy, helping you to be more productive at work.

So if you don’t feel like you are getting the results you would like, first, don’t abandon fitness because even if you never lose another pound you will have gained tremendous health benefits.
However at the same time it is likely that you just haven’t given it enough time.

Sometimes we want quick fixes but it takes time to get rid of the excess fat. Meanwhile, don’t lose sight of the health benefits in fitness. You may be fighting off serious diseases.
