Five Foods That Can Add Spice To Your Love Life

My skinny cousin always says he has no time to eat. (He clearly doesn’t get the same joy from devouring donuts that I do.) Rather, he says he simply “eats to survive.” But, you don’t need to be a “foodie” to know that food has so many other powers besides sustaining life. Certain foods have been proven to boost brainpower. While others assist athletes in their quest to become the best in their fields. And then, there are those foods, which dieticians claim can give you a boost in the romance department.

Here are five foods that experts say can aid your love life:

1. Celery

Feed more of this to your hubby (or boyfriend) and you may feel more attracted to him. Dieticians say celery contains a male hormone: Andosterone. Some scientists believe that when males eat foods containing andosterone it is then secreted in their perspiration, which in the end attracts women.

2. Oysters

Doctors have found that oysters contain the mineral zinc, which helps produce testosterone. With that said, as a reminder, eating raw oysters does come with some risks. Studies have shown that raw oysters have been known to carry food borne bacteria. A night of passion versus a possible sore stomach… you decide.

3. Whole Grain Bread

Doctors say the fiber in whole grain breads helps clear out your arteries, taking bad cholesterol with it, which in turn boosts your energy. So next time you see your hubby eating a sandwich in bed, you may want to hold off on complaining about the crumbs.

4. Fresh, Brightly Colored Fruits

Doctors say the brighter the color means it is richer in antioxidants… The antioxidants are what give the fruit its color. The benfits: Antioxidants lower cholesterol and keep blood moving.

5. Chocolate

You’ve heard it before; chocolate can add major spice to your love life. But, did you know that certain types of chocolate are more effective than others. If you are turning to chocolate to assist you in bed, doctors say, skip the milk chocolate. Rather, stick to dark chocolate, which studies have shown actually contains higher levels of a compound called phenylethylamine when compared to milk chocolate. In the body, phenylethylamine has been proven to produce feelings of euphoria and happiness. And for all you dieters who think the chocolate will blow your weight loss plan, doctors say all you need is an ounce or two to achieve the benefits.

So, what are the worst foods for your love life? Dieticians recommend staying away from foods high in fat. They’ll just clog your arteries, and slow you down.

Have any of these foods spiced up your love life?
