Five Goals to Work on as a Couple

One way to help your marriage is to have you and your spouse work on the same goals together. These can be goals that you do as a couple or individual goals that you are both working on. As you support each other in achieving these goals your relationship should grow stronger. Here are five goals that you can work on as a couple.

1) One important goal to consider is to have couple prayer and scripture study together. This will give you the opportunity to grow together spiritually. It is helpful to discuss the scriptures over with someone else on a regular basis. Praying together will bring you closer together.

2) If you do not already have a date night each week, you may consider doing this as well. It is important to take the time to nurture your relationship. The more hectic that your life becomes, it is even more important that you take the time for each other now. You can have simple dates of spending time together, with an occasional fancy night thrown in.

3) Attend the temple together. This is an important goal, as it will help you both spiritually. It will help you to remain focused on the eternal perspective, and it sets a good example for your children.

4) You may want to set goals such as weight loss or following an exercise program. These goals may be individual goals, but you can find ways to support each other as you work towards them. You may decide to improve the way that you eat as a family. You may decide to exercise together or take turns watching the children so that you can go to the gym. Being supportive of each other will help you to achieve your goals.

5) You can also make goals regarding your financial situation. These goals can bring you peace of mind and as you work together towards achieving them you will feel a great sense of accomplishment. This can also alleviate a lot of stress that may be in your relationship.
