If it were not for all the adorably cute scrapbook stickers on the market, there is a very good chance that I would not be the avid scrapper that I am.
I heart scrapbook stickers! Love them! In fact, I am pretty sure there’s not a single sticker out there that I couldn’t easily fit in a layout. Heck, I’ve created entire page designs around a single package of stickers.
One of the reasons I am such a huge sticker fan is because the embellishments are so versatile. What’s more, they are also one of the cheaper scrapbook decorations available to frugal scrappers. I make it a habit to stock up on seasonal stickers at post-holiday sales. In addition, I choose my stickers carefully based on need.
For example, I constantly use letter stickers to create bold titles for my scrapbook pages. However, it always annoys me when I’m working on a title and there is not enough of the same letters and vowels to complete my design. Often when you purchase a package of alphabet stickers there will be an extra one or two popular vowels and letters, such as “S” or “R” or “T”. However, some titles like “Merry Christmas” and “Happy New Year” require multiple letters, such as “R”s and “P”s, and you are forced to purchase more than one pack of stickers just to complete the simple title. In these cases I look for sales or take my business to discount stores, such as Dollar Tree or Wal-Mart.
Another frugal option is to hodgepodge letters if you have a very long title you need letters for. I have completed a number of layouts where I have cut letters from magazines that do not match, and combined them with leftover letters from other sticker packs. It may sound odd, but when put together in the same title, the letters actually look very cool—similar to a ransom note.
