My kids love to get things in the mail. Letters from friends or family are as good as gold. Freebies or special offers are the silver! I just ordered some free stickers for Elisha, courtesy of Shell. They’re Ferrari’s. Man, what a beautiful car! I’m looking at my little commuter car in the driveway, and thinking that I probably could fit a dozen of them into the price tag of a Ferrari. But ever since Tom Selleck raced around in his Ferrari 308 GTB, it’s been a fantasy of mine. Alas, it will ever remain a fantasy!
Here’s a true story, though. My nephew Nicholas’ middle name is the same as a famous Italian sports car. My brother said that he named him that because it was the only way he’d ever have one! Somehow, I think Elisha would not have been pleased if I’d done that! Nick doesn’t seem to mind, and has that suave, debonair look to match the name.
Eli (and I) will just have to settle for the stickers for now. The new Ferraris are a little out of my budget. The Ferrari racing car is out of everyone’s budget. They sure are pretty to look at. Fifty years of racing, and the style hasn’t changed all that much. Certainly a tribute to timeless Italian styling.
There’s another way to get a Ferrari. For free, even. Last year, a British businessman was having trouble selling his home. When he included his Ferrari in the package, it went quickly! Of course, most of us are not in the market for a multi-million dollar home. You can, however, get a Ferrari. Yes, you can have free photos for your desktop, courtesy of FerrariWorld.
If you have a child who’s into racing or into cars, this is a good find. It’s hard to beat free, whether it’s for the stickers or the wallpaper. And if anyone knows of someone getting rid of one for blogger’s pay, please let me know!
