Frugal Beauty Care for Your Skin

Try some of these methods for taking care of your skin for pennies:

* Use baking soda as an exfoliate. Take some into the bath with you and rub it into your skin to keep it smooth. You can also use it to remove blackheads on your face.

* Drink plenty of water!! This may go without saying, but how many of us really get enough water during the day? Water keeps your body and skin healthier, and reduces the need to use other products to take care of your thirsty skin. Your complexion will thank you!

* Apply grated cucumber all over face, or just around the eyes. The cucumber helps to tighten your skin and reduce the look of wrinkles and under-eye circles.

* To remove blackheads and pimples: apply toothpaste to the infected area. Allow to dry on skin for 20 to 30 minutes. You will probably feel a slight burning sensation, which will tell you that the toothpaste is working. The toothpaste will help rid the skin of bacteria and also will dry out pimples and blackheads.

* Another remedy for blackheads: Mix cornstarch with enough white vinegar to form a paste. Rub over skin and let sit for at least 15 minutes. Wash with warm water and a cloth.

* To unclog pores and moisturize skin, bring a pot of water or a bowl of water in the microwave to boil. Remove pot from heat. Cover your head with a towel and direct your face over the steam from the pot or bowl. Do this for about ten minutes, pat face dry, and follow with a moisturizer. Your skin will glow and feel great!

* Use avocado as a natural moisturizing masque. Mash the avocado until creamy, and spread onto face. Leave for 10 to 15 minutes and wash off.

* Make an exfoliating paste out of uncooked oatmeal and water. Use the paste to gently scrub away dead skin cells. Rinse with warm water.
