Frugal Christmas Shopping: Learn How To Help Work At Home Moms

I cannot believe that Christmas is coming up so fast. The 2006 year seems to have simply flown by at lightening speed. Sometimes I think getting older isn’t that great, because time seems to fly by.

I know we still technically have about two months to go Christmas shopping, but not really. My least favorite time to do my shopping is the month of December because it seems the stores are always crowded, I have trouble finding what I want, the same generic gifts line the aisles of every store, and it’s just generally very overwhelming. So I usually begin my Christmas shopping in very early November so that by the time Thanksgiving rolls around, I’m all caught up or at the very least have only a little bit left to do.

Last year I tried something new though. I own my own home business called Richmont Direct. It’s a home business just like Discovery Toys or Mary Kay. I signed on, bought a kit and was on my way to being a consultant. I love the products and it took me four years to decide to join the forces at Richmont Direct. I’m very thankful I did. The cool thing about my business is that we have five product lines. Well, really only four, but we also sell printer ink, so I guess that’s the fifth. We sell cooking items, seasonal and home décor, jewelry, and personalized gifts. That was what I loved about the company – there were so many products to choose from that I knew I’d be buying from myself immediately. Last Christmas I did most of my shopping straight from my own catalog.

But the other thing I did, was join forces with several other moms with home business’. For instance, a good friend of mine sells Tupperware. She had some things I wanted and I had several that she wanted. We allowed each other to use our consultant discounts to purchase these items.
