headphones It is time for the weekly Genealogy Podcast Roundup. This is where you can find new episodes of your favorite genealogy podcasts. This week, a few of the episodes focus on “New Year’s” genealogy topics.

GeneaBloggers released an episode on January 6, 2012. This episode is called “Genealogy New Year’s Resolutions for 2012”.

There are several special guests included in this episode. DearMYRTLE, (from DearMYRTLE.com), gives tips on how to keep your genealogy data and materials organized. Amy Coffin, (from the We Tree genealogy blog), talks about setting genealogy goals and resolutions for 2012. Jan Meisels Allen, (Vice President of the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies), gives important information on how you can get involved with preservation and access to vital records.

NPR has an episode of “Weekend Edition Sunday” that was released on January 1, 2012. This episode is called “Haitians Mark The New Year With a Belly Full of Soup”. This episode talks about the significance of soup joumou.

FGS has an episode that was released on January 7, 2012. This episode is called “New Year, New Board Members”, and is hosted by Randy Whited. He is joined by guest Polly FitzGerald Kimmitt (President of the Massachusetts Genealogical Council). The Callam County Genealogical Society is featured in the weekly Society Spotlight.

African Roots Podcast released episode number 144 on January 6, 2012. Host Angela Walton-Raji wishes you a Happy New Year! In this episode, she points out that the National Archives has significant information about the census on their website. She also mentions three upcoming genealogy meetings and events, reminds genealogists of deadlines for submitting papers, and points out a few, useful, genealogy websites.

Genies Down Under has released a new episode for January of 2012. This episode is called “Getting ready for family history research in 2012”. In this episode, genealogists will find tips to help them get organized, make plans, and keep on track.

Irish Roots Cafe released a new episode on January 3, 2012. This episode is called “O’Brien genealogy, Co. Clare Ireland, Titantic ticket, Archives”. It is episode number 208. In this episode, O’Brien is the “Name of the Day”, and there is information on how to search for the surnames Green, and McDonnell. The Clare County Library Sources web page is pointed out.
