It is August, and that means that a new school year is about to start. Parents are going to have to purchase a pile of school supplies that their children require. If you pay attention to the Back to School sales and deals, you can save some money while shopping. Here are a few that are going on right now.
Staples has a Back To School Savings Pass. You pay $10.00 for the pass, and it gives you a discount on hundreds of school supplies from now until September 15, 2012. The pass can be used only on in-store purchases, and cannot be used online. It is being offered “while supplies last”.
Target has a sale on backpacks. It has already started, and will last through August 25, 2012. Your kids might not need a brand new backpack every year, but, if this is the year they need a replacement, you might as well save some money on it.
Office Max has sales on school supplies for Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Deals include: Buy 2, Get 1 free on all Crayola Art supplies, Buy 2, get 1 free on all Fiskars Scissors and trimmers, and Buy 1, Get 1, free on Office Max Glue sticks.
Office Max also has sales on school supplies for Middle and High School students. Deals include: Buy 2, get 2 free on all Expo Dry erase markers and Paper Mate InkJoy ballpoint pens, Office Max 3- subject notebooks for $2.00, and Buy 2, get 1 free on Mead notebooks.
Kmart has a Back to School sale that includes plenty of school supplies. Deals include: Sewn Composition Books for $1.92, Classic color Pack Crayola crayons – 24 colors, for $1.99, and a package of Economy Woodcase Pencil HB#2, Yellow Barrel for $0.99. These are just a few of the school supplies deals at Kmart right now.
Apple has a Back to School deal that is great for college students. Buy a Mac for college through September 21, 2012, and receive a $100 Back to School Gift Card to use on apps, books, music, and movies. Or, buy a new iPad and get a $50.00 Back to School Gift Card. Parents buying for a college student might qualify for Educational Pricing.
Walgreens has a sale on school supplies, too. Penway Memo books, assorted colors, are 6 for $1.00, or 1 for $0.49. Sharpie Highlighters, assorted fluorescent colors, packs of four, are $0.99. Penway Composition Notebooks, assorted colors, are also 6 for $1.00 or 1 for $0.49.
