Goodwill Offers and Finds

Do you shop at the Goodwill? Here are some of the finds that were available Saturday at my local Goodwill.

Thrift stores can be an adventure to shop. There is always something interesting to find. This past Saturday was no exception. It had been a while since we went shopping at the Goodwill. Usually we only go when we have a good amount of items to donate ourselves. The last time went visited was back in December, when we had a ton of items to offer. A lot of other people had the same idea, getting those donations in by the end of the year for tax purposes, or as a way of starting off the year fresh. This time around, We had two large boxes (bulk diaper size) full of kids clothing, four small grocery bags full of toys and household goods, and our Graco highchair. I will miss that highchair, since it went through all three of our children, but our very precocious 20-month-old refuses to sit in it any longer.

As it stood, I really needed to get some “play” jeans for myself. I can’t see spending $50 or more for jeans that are going to spend most of their time playing on the floor with the kids, playing outside with the kids, etc. I picked up two pair of nice, name brand jeans for $5 a piece. That is a good deal. I also found a popular book for 50 cents (that is wish listed on paperbackswap). The kids found some inexpensive puzzles, a veggie tale DVD, and a decorated box for Molly’s hair bits and bobs.

I saw some good bargains that we did not pick up, but would make great deals for someone else, such as four popular PC games that are currently retailing for $40 a piece. They were selling at the Goodwill for $4 each.

What are some of your best Goodwill finds?
