While I love using containers to organize items in my home, I have discovered another great tool to use. Shoe organizers can do wonders for organizing, especially smaller items that you just can’t seem to find a good place for.
The problem with smaller items is that if you do find somewhere to put them, you may forget you put them there or they may not be easily accessible. So let me share with you some great uses for shoe organizers.
Let me first clarify what I mean by shoe organizers. I am referring to the kind you hang over a door. They typically come with about 24 pockets. My favorite kind is the clear plastic over-the-door shoe organizers. This allows you to easily see what is inside the pocket.
I have three of them that I use in my home. One of my shoe organizers I use in a closet and it holds small items of jewelry. I put my bracelets, rings and some necklaces inside the pockets. Like I said, with clear pockets I can easily see which piece of jewelry is inside a pocket.
Another place that I use a shoe organizer is in my linen closet. This one holds a number of items, some of them including: band-aids, batteries, tea-light candles, flashlights, lint brushes, hooks and well, the list could go on. Let’s just say there are a lot of odds and ends items that I store in these pockets. Once again, the clear pockets make it easy to see where everything is.
The other room that has a shoe organizer is in my daughter’s closet. She uses it to hold hair pieces, jewelry, pencils and a number of other things.
So if you have been looking for a way to organize those smaller items that doesn’t take up a lot of space, consider using a shoe organizer. If you have found other ways to use shoe organizers then please share.
