Grilled Moroccan Steak
This is a great dinner party dish, since you prepare the steak the night before and just pop it on the grill the next day.
INGREDIENTS:
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup olive oil
5 tbs fresh lemon juice
2 tbs soy sauce
2 tbs chopped flat-leaf parsley
5 1/2 tbs grated ginger root
1 tbs ground cumin
1 tbs chili powder
2 tsp sherry
1 tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp dried oregano leaves
1 tsp ground black pepper
2 cloves garlic cloves, crushed
4 lbs flank steak
DIRECTIONS:
1. Mix together chopped onion, olive oil, lemon juice, soy sauce, chopped parsley, grated ginger root, cumin, chili powder, sherry, turmeric, oregano, pepper, and crushed garlic cloves.
2. Pour the marinade over flank steak, turning to coat. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
3. Grill the steaks until done, about 8 minutes on each side, basting with the marinade.
4. Prepare rice according to package directions. Heat any remaining marinade and serve with the sliced steak.
