Heidi Swapp Scrapbook Accessories: Part Two

Heidi Swapp has come out with some very fun and innovative scrapbook products. I’d like to share a few of those with you.

Florals. One of my favorite offerings from Heidi Swapp is her florals. They come in two different sizes, small (2.25 inch diameter) and large (4.5 inch diameter), with six different color choices. They come 12 per package and retail for $2.29 for the small florals and $2.59 for the large. She also sells floral centers that are large, round puffy stickers that coordinate with the flower centers. They retail for $1.49 for the small and $1.99 for the large with 6 centers per package. Flowers are always a fun embellishment and I love how these big florals can really add a lot of interests to a layout.

Fuzzy Rub-ons. One item that was a bit disappointing to use were the fuzzy run-on images. It was very difficult to get them to stick to my paper. It took over an hour to get one paisley to stick to a scrapbook layout. I have read a tip on the HS website where they recommend only tracing around the image with your stylus rather than rubbing back and forth over the image. I will have to give that tip a try since the idea of having something fuzzy on my layout is so fun. I think that it reminds me of my sticker collecting days in fifth grade, and so it makes me really want to get these rub-ons to work right. The rub-ons come in several fun images and words. The fuzzy rub-ons retail for $3.99 per sheet.

Ghost Shapes. The HS accessory that has been most fun to work with has been the ghost shapes. These are ultra thick pieces of acetate that come in a variety of shapes and colors. The shapes available are snowflakes, flowers, hearts, stars and frames. They come with different sizes of the same shape in each package. They are all available as clear in color and some of the shapes (flowers, frames and hearts) also come in pink. They can be painted, inked, or left alone. Attaching these allows you to use some creativity since regular adhesive cannot be used since it will show through. I like to staple them to the layout, but you can also sew, run them through the Xyron machine, or attach with a brad or eyelet. The shapes retail for $3.49 per package and the frames are $3.99.

Index Tabs. An item that I have noticed a few different retailers come out with is index tabs. HS also has a great selection of these. Each package comes with 18 self-adhesive tabs and 36 pre-printed inserts. This is a fun embellishment that adds a subtle and nice touch to any project. These retail for $2.49 per package.

HS offers a few other accessories such as journaling spots, jewels, ribbon, and silhouette words and images. You can view the entire line on products on her website where the catalog can be viewed as a pdf file.

I hope you can use a few of these products and let me know what you think. I’d love to hear from you.
