Nice to meet everyone and hope to make this an open and free flowing place to post any questions regarding education.
My experience began as a student, then an elementary and high school teacher, a college English Professor, and a private tutor. I also worked as a Daycare director and a Preschool teacher.
For over 15 years, I have been involved with helping students of learning disabilities stemming from Dyslexia to Auditory Processing. Study skills and time management are helpful steps for many LD students. Due to my own experiences with LD’s, I have always incorporated the different learning styles into my lessons including visual, auditory, interactive, as well as combining all three. Developing lesson plans which teach to the multi-sensory learner can be a challenge for many teachers, but can also be a huge help when it comes to student’s individual learning.
I am a very creative individual whose unique style has brought much success in my educational practices, as well as the business world. Private tutoring for 10 years allowed me to work one on one with over hundreds of students, helping each to reach the goals they set for themselves.
Due to being Dyslexic, the Hebrew language was very easy to learn as a young child. My first experience with teaching came at the young age of 13 when I was asked to become a teacher’s assistant and help first graders to learn the basic Alphabet in Hebrew. Four years later, when it was time to decide what to study in college, my experience of years before stuck with me and that is how I decided on becoming a teacher.
I hold a BA in English writing, a minor in Psychology, and a Masters of Arts in Teaching, as well as years of experience in the educational world. My teachings have taken me overseas where I taught English to Israeli students, and in America, where I have taught the Hebrew language to American students.
Presently, I am a full time freelance writer and editor (www.PearlyWrites.com), focusing my skills on many genres of writing. My publishing’s are posted in print, on the web, and beyond.
