Holiday Disney World Deals

Looking to take a holiday Disney World vacation? If you try to take your trip right over Christmas you’re not going to get any special offers from the park, but vacation just after Thanksgiving through mid-December, or in early January, and Disney World has a host of deals of which you can take advantage.

If you book by October 31, you can receive up to a 30% discount at select Disney resorts for trips taken between November 1 and November 16, or November 24 through December 22. Remember that Disney World holiday celebrations often last weeks.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party kicks off November 9 and lasts until December 22, the spectacle of dancing lights goes from November 9 to January 6, and although specific dates haven’t been announced yet, the Christmas Day parade usually films after Thanksgiving; the last week of November leading into the first week of December.

It’s a good time to go to the park if you’re not interested in filming, because everyone’s busy trying to see the filming (keep in mind that parts of the Magic Kingdom will be locked off for the parade). Or if you want to be a part of it, you’ll already be in Orlando and have a greater chance of getting tickets. So through all of December and most of November there will be plenty of holiday-themed goings on at the parks; it’s a great time to travel there if you want discounts and a little holiday magic.

If you want to take a winter vacation in warmer climes when it’ll be less crowded, consider heading to Disney World in January. Book by December 31, and you can receive anywhere from 15-35% savings (lower savings for the value resorts, highest savings for the deluxe villas, though given the price difference it’s a bit deceptive) for your stays if you go during the week: Sunday through Thursday nights. These are some of the least crowded times at the park, so it’s great if you don’t want to have to wait in line. The savings apply for January 2-9, 13-17, and January 21-February 13.

Disney World also has a Play, Dine, and Save package on the table for anyone who wants to take a trip there early next year. You can save up to $600 on a Magic-Your-Way package for families of four (what’s up with limiting offers to families with a specific number of members?) for most nights between January 2 and March 7. The trip must be booked by December 31. Magic-Your-Way packages include dining plans, park tickets, and hotel bookings. Get a full Disney Dining Plan for stays at Disney Moderate, Deluxe, or Deluxe Villa resorts, or a Disney Quick-Service Dining plan for stays at Disney Value Resorts.

Members of the military and their families have a couple special offers. Disney World is offering 4-day Park Hopper tickets for $156 (plus tax) each. These tickets are valid from October 1, 2012 through September 28, 2013. Certain blackout dates apply (holidays, other high-traffic days). They’re for any active or retired members of the military, and can be purchased by a member of the military or their spouse, but not both.

Disney World is also offering specially priced resort rooms for members of the military, through September 28 of next year. Blackout dates also apply, and reservations must be made in advance. The special offers website doesn’t detail which hotels are applicable. For information, call (407) 939-7830.

Disney World constantly updates its special offers page, and the website also contains all the specifics on the deals offered. To learn more or make bookings, head to the site.
