Hollywood—-It’s All Who You Know

When a guy named Rooster gets his own TV show you have to know that there’s more to the story than just his moniker.

Or is there?

Once I found out what Rooster’s real name was it all started to make sense.

Rooster McConaughey is actually Michael Patrick McConaughey… as in the brother of Hollywood hottie Matthew McConaughey.

Now you get it?

Rooster’s new show is called “Black Gold” and it premieres next month on truTV.

Let me start by saying that if you plan to tune in with the hopes that Rooster’s bro will come jogging by in all his bare-chested glory you will be severely disappointed. According to show producers, Rooster’s reality TV gig documents his life as a pipe supplier–much less glamorous than his handsome sibling’s, yet he still landed his own series.

Go figure.

“Black Gold” will reportedly take viewers inside the race to find oil in Texas. Never mind that Rooster does not work on an oil rig (rather he supplies the pipes for the drills) and that he is recovering from a prior bankruptcy (when the oil business went bust, Rooster apparently lost everything and ended up renaming his company Chapter 11 Pipe) producers say y’all will be riveted by Rooster’s story.

Did I mention Rooster lives in Texas and is considered a good ol’ boy… and he named his second son Miller Lyte after his favorite beer?

Yeah.

In the meantime the man with a thousand names Sean “Diddy”, “Daddy,” “Puffy,” “P.,” Combs says he is ready to expand his horizons once again.

The singer turned actor turned fashion designer claims he was so inspired by this year’s Cannes Film Festival, he is now writing his own big-screen project.

The rap mogul, who has appeared in films such as “Monster’s Ball” and “Made,” says he wants to take Hollywood by storm. While in Cannes the hip hop star told reporters that he is desperate to prove he has what it takes to become an award-winning filmmaker. In fact, Combs says he has already compiled his dream cast for the comedy his writing. It includes some names you might be familiar with–Angelina Jolie, Sienna Miller, and Eddie Murphy.
