Homeschooling Resource of the Day: 09/25/07

Welcome to another edition of homeschooling resource of the day. As always, if you see something you want changed, you have something you would like added, or know of something that should be featured please feel free to leave me a comment.

Today’s website is Read-Think-Write. This is a great website. It has some good lessons, but the thing I love about this website is the student materials. They are amazing! They have a tool to make character trading cards. You create your own character, make the story about them and print them up. They even have a sheet to fill out before hand so that they can plan the character before hand and give ideas of what should be on the card. For the lapbookers out there, they have fill in the blank flip books with nine different layouts! This is just a couple of great tools they have available on their site for free!

Word of the day: plethora \PLETH-uh-ruh\, noun:
1. An abnormal bodily condition characterized by an excessive amount of blood in the system.
2. Excess; superabundance.

“Today’s homeschooling book of the day” will be changed to book of the week. I will add it only to Monday’s post. I am doing this for a couple of reasons. First so that I don’t run out of books that I’ve already read too quickly. Second, so that when I do run out of those books, I have time to read the new books to recommend.
