How Much Proof?

null
The key to receiving anything from God is believing. The key to eternal life is no different. It comes down to believing. Jesus will return and believers will live, John 5:25. The opposite is also true. Those who choose not to believe God and take Him at His Word, will be judged, John 5:28-29.

It’s not like God has kept His plans secret. We can’t say we don’t know. Jesus is the judge. As the obedient One of God, obedient to death, Jesus has been given that right to judge.

But can we believe He is who He says He is? John the Baptist witnessed to Jesus, John 1:29. But there was an even greater witness – that of the works Jesus did. Unless Jesus had the power and authority of God, He would not have been able to do the healings He did. His works testified who Jesus is – the Son of God sent by the Father, John 5:36.

Then we have an even more important witness, the witness of God the Father, John 5:37. See also Matthew 3:17 and Mark 1:11. They prove God sent His Son, Jesus. We have the witness of Scripture, John 5:39. It’s all written for us in black and white in both the Old and New Testaments. How much proof do people need? How much proof do you need that Jesus is who He said He was?

Jesus understood the hearts of the Jews who wanted to kill him for breaking the Sabbath. But in reality their own religion and scriptures condemned them for not believing in the Promised One God had sent, because the Old Testament scriptures spoke of Jesus and we very specific about even where he would be born, Micah 5:2, and how Isaiah 7:14.

All the proof is there. More than enough for us to believe. What will you do about it? Will you believe God and respond to Jesus and come from death to life? John 3:16-18.
