Insurance Careers: Intro From Top to Bottom.

If you have been following my Insurance Blogs, I’m sure you can tell Insurance is a certain kind of “Geek Thing.” People who are successful working in an Insurance Career have a strange way of viewing risk and planning for disasters. Insurance is defiantly a way of thinking most people can understand insurance and how it relates to their own lives and personal finances. Some people can enjoy a career within the Insurance Industry.

Within the business of insurance there are amazing and a wide range of opportunities for talented people. There are entry level positions for high school graduates with advancement potentials. In many cases, training classes and license fees may be paid for by an Insurance Company or Agency for motivated entry level workers.

Advancement is always possible in the insurance field. A wide range of talent, skill and education is needed in order to keep the insurance industry on track. At the top the need is for college graduates skilled for the highly specialized based on mathematical, computerized and statistically driven roles. Actuaries, underwriters, attorneys and company management.

The bulk of people with careers in the field of insurance focus on the general day to day business management. Customer service, insurance billing and clerical services are important to the foundation of the insurance industry. Agents, claims processors, paper pushers are needed at every level within the business of insurance. Many of these jobs require a high school diploma and a few weeks of Insurance School,

Each state has an insurance licensing program. Typically a certain number of Insurance School hours and passing a state license test is all that‘s needed for someone to get an insurance license. Most states break up the areas of insurance and types of license. Usually there is a test for Life and Health and a different test and license for Auto, home, and liability related insurance.

A person with a Property Causality license might work at a car dealership, dealing with the insurance matters of new customers. Or this person may work in an Insurance Agents office as a receptionist, customer’s service representative and administrative assistant to an agent or agency. Someone with a Life Health license might work for a hospital in the medical billing office, or in a local doctors office. Often this license is earned by the human relations manager of a company supporting the ability to choose good benefits and investment packages for the employees. There is a wide range of opportunity for someone who is able to get an insurance license.

There are other insurance related careers people may not think about. Marketing and Advertising is a huge field within the insurance industry. Most people are able to think of at least three different Insurance commercials they have seen in the past few weeks. Some of the most talented people in advertising create the most memorable insurance ad icons and slogans.

A motivated sales oriented person might find becoming an agent is the perfect career path. Someone with smart business sense, good customer-service skills and that flair of salesmanship can develop a small business with great income potential. The Agents are the pulse of the insurance industry and good-agents or agencies not only provide wonderful service to their clients, but the represent the insurance companies they write for.

Look for New Blogs about a variety of career opportunities in the Field of Insurance. Whether someone wants to work for a major international firm or a local office or business, insurance has opportunities to build a rewarding, challenging, long-term career.
