One of the biggest challenges that face scrapbookers, is getting themselves, and their supplies organized. Organization is key to a more relaxed life. It can mean the difference between spending a productive hour scrapbooking, and a non-productive fifteen minutes.
The problem is, that for every scrapbooker, there is a method of organization is right and that is wrong for the individual. So it has become about discovering what works best for you, what keeps you most productive and what gives you the most time and sense of organization.
With all of the creative items that scrapbookers use, hoard or just generally own, there are a lot of different types of things that need to get organized. And space is another factor. Do you have your own room? Is your area big enough to hold all your supplies? Do you have nothing more than a closet?
The first step is to take note of what you already have to store:
- memorabilia
- photographs
- punches
- scissors
- often used supplies
- card stock
- patterned paper
- stickers
- die cuts
- embellishments
- fibers, ribbons, etc.
- completed layouts
- page kits
and so the list almost seems as if it could just keep going and going.
The next step is to figure out what you might need for future purchases. Are you planning on purchasing a large piece of scrapbooking equipment? A Cricut for instance? If so, you need to keep the storage needs for that in check too. You will have lots of dies to find a new home for.
Because each scrapbooker is unique, their storage needs will be unique to them as well. Everyone has different items that take precedence over others. And although some might use punches, others might only own one.
