A new report out maintains that singer turned actress Jessica Simpson is planning to have a baby with her gay hairdresser!
Listen, I know this ranks up there with other wacky Hollywood rumors, and ordinarily I would completely dismiss it as rumor. However, numerous NBC affiliates throughout the country are running the story. Does that make it automatically legit? Hardly. But, hey, if the mainstream media is going to run with it so will I.
So, here are the details on the pregnancy rumors:
The 27-year-old single actress (yes, she’s still single since getting the heave ho from John Mayer) has made no secret that she wants to be a mommy. She has gone public many times with her desire to adopt, but word has it the wannabe country singer may now be going a different route. More magazine is reporting that Simpson is planning to be artificially inseminated with the sperm of her long-time friend and stylist Ken Paves (yes, the same Ken Paves who refused to tame Britney Spears locks at the VMAs) who reportedly is dying to become a father.
A source told the magazine of Simpson’s decision to hold off on adoption: “She’s an old fashioned girl. I’m sure she wants a child who is biologically hers.”
The source goes on to reveal that Nick Lachey’s ex-wife and Paves were having dinner and Simpson was complaining about how she couldn’t find a man to commit and how immature the guys she has dated have been. The singer then reportedly suggested Paves father her child. The hair stylist to the stars has been in a committed relationship with his boyfriend for years, but rumor has it Paves’ partner isn’t keen on the idea of adopting. On top of that the pair have reportedly decided to begin the process in the next six months because Simpson is “yearning for a baby.”
Assuming that any of this is true Simpson would then join the bevy of other blond twenty-something Hollywood celebs who are flashing baby bellies around town—-Nicole Richie, Christina Aguilera, etc.
Then again, maybe, Simpson is just pondering her slumping social life. After all, her ex husband is now shacking up with his new love and is fending off marriage rumors and her most recent relationship with songster Mayer went up in flames when he told the world that she was “high maintenance.” (Duh! Didn’t the guy watch any of Simpson’s MTV reality show?) And now he’s moved on with actress Cameron Diaz.
