Julie Garwood – Never a Killjoy

A friend of mine told me to check out Julie Garwood because we shared a mutual love for J.D Robb (also known as Nora Roberts.) The first book of hers that I read was entitled Heartbreaker and I’ve never looked book. Garwood started writing seriously after her youngest child entered the 1st grade.

An Irish storyteller at heart, Garwood is the author of over seventeen New York Times bestsellers. Like other romantic authors before her, she’s made the leap to the romantic thriller. Page turners that demand the reader’s attention. Her recent thrillers begin with the tale in Heartbreaker and continue in Mercy, Killjoy, Murder List and the most recent Slow Burn.

Her novels follow the Buchanan and Renard families. The mysteries are well written, the element of danger present and the romance adorable, but what makes a Garwood such a terrific author is her captivating dialogue. Her characters leap from the page with challenging quips and amusing comments. Her books are hard to characterize because they offer such a wonderful adventure.

Garwood focuses on her family above all else and while she may not publish as often as I would like her to, each novel is a real treat. You can find Julie Garwood’s novels in the romance section of the bookstore and in some in the standard fiction areas. If you’ve never read her before, you can choose any of her romances or start with her romantic thriller adventures. Heartbreaker will introduce you to Nick Buchanan, Father Tommy and Noah Clayborne. Then you just have to hold for the ride.

You can find out more about Julie Garwood and her wonderful novels at her website.
