There is a magazine that is specifically designed for LDS families. It is “LDS Living.” This magazine focuses on the everyday life of Latter Day Saints. The magazine offers a variety of interesting features each month. The subjects of the feature articles vary each issue and cover aspects that are both seasonal and timely. In addition to the feature articles they offer a wide variety of regular columns.
There is also a special topic in each issue. They have about three feature length articles on the topic. In the last two issues the topics have been family reunions and weddings. These articles include tips and activities to help make the experiences more enjoyable.
Towards the back of the magazine is a section called “Family Guide.” This section offers a family home evening lesson idea in every issue. You can also find tips for cooking, cleaning and family finances. They also have a section on new products that are offered for the LDS market.
“Destination” is another regular column. In this column they discuss a new place to travel to. The article includes family friendly areas, and any church history facts that have taken place in the area. This is a great column to look at when you want to plan a family trip.
My favorite section of the magazine is “Making a Difference.” Each month they share three stories of people who have done something to help those around them. This is an inspiring section that I flip to as soon as I pick up the magazine.
The magazine has a nice clean layout. While it is focused on LDS topics and one of the main topics is family, there is a universal appeal to anyone. The articles appeal to wide age range. There are articles, which appeal to any stage of life in each magazine.
