LDS Week in Review – October 15 – 20

It’s been another wonderful week here in LDS. For those of you who may have missed the daily blogs and would like a recap, here you go!

Tristi continued to tell us about the family history Sunday School class offered by her ward in “Temple and Family History Work: Salvation for the Living and the Dead.” Then Miriam reported on Sister Julie Beck’s conference address, “What Latter-day Women Do Best: Stand Strong and Immoveable.”

Then Miriam addressed a common dilemma faced by parents attending church in her blog, “My Child Won’t Go to Nursery!” It was great to read her tips — I think every parent struggles with at least one of their children at nursery time.

Tristi continues the Scripture Study series with 1 Nephi 10:1-10, 1 Nephi 10:11-17, and 1 Nephi 10:18-22. Lehi’s tree of life vision was discussed this week.

Miriam speaks to us about the always needed attribute of “Hope”, and then reminds us of the importance of creating loving atmosphere in our homes in “Your Home Environment.” She also helps us to prepare for the upcoming holiday with “Ideas for Halloween Ward Activities.” You could have a costume dance or even a mystery dinner.

Tristi continues the Gospel Questions series with “Are Mormons Polygamists?” She explains why polygamy was instituted to begin with, and that it is no longer practiced by the LDS church. She also tells us about the next lesson in the family history Sunday School class, entitled “Temple Ordinances for You and Your Immediate Family.” Meanwhile, Miriam wrapped up her week with “Striving to Improve.” She encourages us to pray about our weaknesses, take them one at a time, and work every day on doing better in our quest to draw closer to Heavenly Father.

We hope you enjoyed today’s recap, and that you’ll join us this week for more blogs here in LDS.
