Learn to Read with the Berenstain Bears

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos
I love the Berenstain Bears. I have enjoyed watching the bear family on tv or reading about them in books since I was a child. Anytime I can share innocent and family focused stories and shows with my kids I jump at the chance. Most families on tv show no parental involvement with the children in the stories. The Berenstain Bears are a wholesome family with sweet stories that reinforce family values. Just in time for the 50th anniversary of the Berenstain Bears, is the release of early reader books featuring the bear family.

The Berenstain Bears early reader books share stories of faith and love. The early reader books are based on older stories which adds a nostalgic flair.

The Berenstain Bears: Faith Gets Us Through: Based on Spooky Shadows, this book follows the Bear Scouts seeking to earn their merit badges. To do so they need to hike through the Spooky Cave. When the bears get lost they have to rely on Papa Bear’s knowledge of caves and faith to get through. The book is also a great teaching tool to study caves.

The Berenstain Bears: God Made the Seasons: Based on the story, All Year Round, the bear family reminisces over the four seasons and the time spent together. The illustrations are adorable and will likely evoke your own memories spending the seasons with your family. Throughout the book the Christian message is clear as the book seeks to show the glory of God through the year and the seasons. It is a great book to incorporate in any studies on the seasons, weather, of creation.

You will enjoy reading these books to your children. A wonderful way to put little ones to bed or teach biblical concepts. As you read through place emphasis on the words and soon your child will be reading it to you.
