The Right Attitude in Each Situation

Last night I was attending a ladies dinner with some ladies from the congregation I attend, as well as ladies from some area congregations. The speaker really hit on some things that I needed to hear. Lately I have been somewhat down on myself and my current situation. Nothing bad has happened in my life to make me feel this way; rather, I have not had the best attitude toward my situation. This is what the speaker spoke on last night.

One of the verses the speaker used was Philippians 2:14: “Do all things without grumbling or questioning.” The speaker spoke about looking at each situation with the right attitude. The speaker also mentioned the fact that we can make ourselves miserable by looking at each situation with the wrong attitude.

Sadly, I am very much guilty of entering situations with the wrong attitude. How can I expect the situation to turn out well, if I enter the situation with the wrong attitude in the beginning? I will think about how boring or bad a situation could be, rather than how interesting or positive the situation could be. I need to greatly adjust my attitude going into many things in life.

I need to enter situations with the right attitude. I need to enter situations with the attitude that I can let my light shine before men, and that I can share the gospel with people I meet. I need to enter situations with the attitude that I can learn more about the Lord, and that I can enjoy fellowship with fellow Christians. I need to enter situations with thoughts of encouraging others. I need to enter situations with an attitude that good things are possible.

In writing this blog I hope to encourage you to enter situations with the right attitude, without grumbling or questioning. I know it is easy to fall into a bad habit of the wrong attitude, and for me, the lesson last night was a wake-up call to my attitude toward different situations in life.
