LOVE Letters

These may not be your typical love letters that you would expect to find from your grandparents form years ago, but I hope that you will be inspired to create a few love letters like these sometime in the near future.

I just put these letters together yesterday and I had so much fun with this project, so I thought that I would share them with you.

Supplies:

Chipboard Letters: from JoAnn ($2.99 each)
Patterned Paper: Basic Grey and Daisy D’s
Stickers: 7 Gypsies and Heidi Swapp
Rub-on flourishes: Basic Grey
Love Themed Stamp: 7 Gypsies
Ribbon and Heart Gems: Unknown

It is so fun to do altered projects because you can spend just an hour or two and have a finished project ready to display.

Here is a quick rundown on the steps I took to create this project:

1. Place chipboard letters upside down on back side of patterned paper. Use a pencil to trace the outline of the letter. Cut out with scissors.
2. Place a thin layer of Mod Podge with a foam paintbrush onto BOTH the chipboard letter and the patterned paper. It seems to help the paper stick better if the glue is on both surfaces. Smooth out any air bubbles.
3. Place rub-ons and stickers onto the letters. This is the fun part, so enjoy adding your special little touches.
4. Put a coat of Mod Podge over the top of each letter to help seal in the rub-ons and stickers.
5. Add ribbon and jewels.
6. Display and enjoy!

This project took less that 2 hours and it was a fun way to use some of the cool valentine products I have without creating another valentine layout. I liked that the paper wasn’t totally valentine themed, so that if I decide to keep the decoration up past February, it won’t look like I forgot to clean up after Valentine’s Day.
