Yard sale season is here! Take advantage of this fact to go around your home and turn all of your unused and unwanted items into some cash. A good yard sale can yield about $500, although I have known one family who made more than $1,000 in their first yard sale of the season.
If you don’t and can’t host a yard sale, you can still take advantage of those spring yard sales to make money. How? Scout out the best bargains at the yard sales and then resell the items for a profit. You can easily sell certain things, such as children’s clothing, toy and collectibles for much more than you paid at a yard sale.
Let your family and friends know that you are available for house and pet sitting this spring. Ask them to pass on the message to anyone they know. Not only can you make some money offering these services to people who are going on their spring vacations and are out of town for christenings and weddings, but you can also get a mini vacation away from home in the process.
Sign up for seasonal part time jobs in the spring. Some areas that are always looking for employees in the spring and the summer include newspapers (for carriers), lawn and garden centers, landscapers, motels, campgrounds, ice cream shops, moving companies and more.
Write a blog. Blogging is a legitimate way of earning some extra money, and it can usually be done on a part time basis.
