Make Gift Wrapping Fun

Christmas presents Do you spend hours on Christmas Eve or early Christmas morning wrapping gifts when you really should be enjoying the quiet joy of the season? Or do you park a block away from the relatives house just so you can wrap the gifts before you join in the celebration? What about delivering presents in a bag or box instead of wrapped?

I have to admit that my family has done all of the above things during past Christmas seasons. Wrapping the gifts can be a chore. Oh the first one or two can be fun, but by the time you are on to aunt Ethel’s gift, well, there are so many other things you would rather be doing.

Fortunately, I discovered some ideas that actually make us look forward to wrapping gifts. Here are some ways to make the task lots of fun, or at least easier.

Use beautiful paper and ribbons. Instead of the normal printed reindeer paper, try using premium paper and ribbons. You’ll love the feel of the good stuff, and it will be fun to create stunning looking gifts. or try using unique materials, such as a gold tablecloth, to wrap your gifts. Get creative.

Hold a gift wrapping party. Invite your friends over to wrap all of your gifts at once. Any task is always much more fun when you have friends to share it with. Serve cocoa, coffee and cookies, and be sure to exchange some gift wrap, so you don’t have the same-looking packages under your tree.

Wrap the gifts as you go. As you purchase or make your presents, wrap them as well. While this might not make it more fun, you will certainly feel better knowing that there isn’t a mountain of gifts waiting for you to tackle at the last minute.
