Lately I have noticed many fun accents and embellishments on layouts that actually sparkle and add such a fun touch to the layout. Adding something that sparkles can give the layout a more playful or elegant feel, depending on how you use the elements on you page.
I thought that I would share a few of my favorite products that sparkle so that you can give some a try if you haven’t already.
American Crafts Glitter Gem Pens. These pens come in a wide variety of colors and actually have glitter included in the ink so that as you write both the ink and the glitter are applied to your paper. They are acid free and archival safe. These would be especially fun to use if you like to include doodling on your layouts.
Glitter. I like to use Stampin’ Up’s Glitter, but any should work fine. Just apply glue to the area you want the glitter and then apply the glitter. It can take you back to memories of art class in elementary school. You could spell out titles, make picture frames or create fun doodled shapes on your layout.
Heidi Swapp Jewels. I love that her jewels come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Lately I have really had fun with the small, round, clear jewels. Just a couple of them can add a fun touch without being too overwhelming.
Bazzill Bling Cardstock. This was just released at Memory Trends earlier this month. I got a good look at it while I was there and I am excited to get to use some. The cardstock is created with glitter build right in to the paper. This means that you can have the shine without all of the mess. It is going to be sold in a wide variety of colors.
