Metric Conversions

Cooking is a joy. It brings pleasure to those who create and to those who eat. But the joy of cooking quickly becomes a chore when you’re faced with a recipe you can’t understand!

Metric conversions can be tricky business. Because our readers here at Families.com reside in a variety of countries, I wanted to provide you with the conversions you may need to make some of the delicious recipes that are posted every day. For dry volume measurements:

1/8 teaspoon = 0.5mL

¼ teaspoon = 1mL

½ teaspoon = 2mL

¾ teaspoon = 4mL

1 teaspoon = 5mL

1 Tablespoon = 15mL

2 Tablespoons = 30mL

¼ cup = 60mL

1/3 cup = 75mL
