Military Hero Scrapbook

Each month the local scrapbook supply shop in my small town displays a specialty theme book made by the owner or one created by a member of the shop’s scrapbooking club. October’s theme is military scrapbooks in preparation for next month’s Veteran’s Day celebrations.

All month the store is offering 10 percent off military-themed scrapbook materials, including albums, stickers, cropping supplies, stamps, die-cuts, etc. In addition, customers are invited to attend workshops to help create their own one-of-a-kind scrapbook tributes to active, retired, and deceased military heroes.

Fortunately, you don’t have to live in my little town to make your own military-themed scrapbook. Stores across the nation carry scrapbook supplies for most branches of the military, including the Coast Guard. In addition, you can shop online at Creating Military Memories, which carries a wide array of military-themed scrapbook materials.

Some popular additions to military layouts include:

*Silhouette of ship set against a sunset background

*Helicopter

*Tank

*Air Force jet in mid-flight or taking off

*Emblems

*Dog tags

*Anchors

*Gold stars

If you are a beginner scrapper or you simply don’t have the time or money to create a detailed book to honor your military loved one, then consider purchasing military-themed albums. Service Memories carries a 12 x 12 inch Navy blue scrapbook album, which features a gold-plated die cast Coast Guard medallion on the cover. The album also comes with 10 top loading page protectors with inserts to hold 20 pages of memories.

In addition, American Croppers sells an album that is covered in a military fatigue pattern and an embroidered Coast Guard emblem patch. The memory book features a dozen 12 x 12 inch top loading page protectors, which can be filled with photos of your military hero plus special mementos and awards given to honor his or her outstanding service to the nation.
