More Online Photo and Video Sharing and Hosting

Last post, we discussed how to calibrate you computer’s monitor so you get colors that match what you see in your photos, when they are printed. There are many online services that will print photos from your memory cards, and it seems that there are more popping up every day.

The advantage to these services is the price and convenience. You can order prints and have them picked up at any other location across the country, or just pick them up down the street from your house. Today, let’s cover some more popular services and what each has to offer. I covered some other services previously.

There is a service called Photobucket, that allows you to upload photos and video and share them with whoever you want. It is also a free image-hosting site. Which means that if you sell things online, you can upload your product photos and host them for free here. Handy for those who don’t have their own website. And there is a good tools and tips section, which helps with uploading photos and other such related things.

SmugMug is another photo sharing site. This is not a free site, but you can create a really cool album, with prices ranging from $39.95 per year up to $149.95 per year for professional albums. It is not intended as a hosting service for auction photos, or other photos, but more of an image showcase service. It looks really nice, and they offer a free trial. If you are an advanced amateur or professional you may want to check this out.

MyPhotoAlbum is another free service for sharing photo and video online. There are numerous photo personalization, printing, and sharing options. New members get 15 free prints, too. This is a FREE service.

Picture Trail is another free service, that allows photo sharing, printing, and hosting. They offer a cool looking thing called Photo Flicks™, which is a Flash slideshow creator.

I will cover more services in another episode. If you know of any other services that you like, let me know. Thanks.
