More Ideas with Old Magazine Paper

Here are some more ideas for using paper from old magazines to decorate your rooms.

Picture Collage

To make a picture collage you will need to cut out the pages from your old magazines and sort them into different colors. For example, you may find a page with half blue and half yellow, so just cut them into a blue piece and a yellow piece. Cut these pieces into small squares of 1 inch by 1 inch.

Cut a sheet of posterboard to the size of the picture collage that you want to make. Draw a line picture on it. You can copy a picture from a book or just use your imagination. If you don’t want to draw real objects, you can just draw an abstract pattern of geometrical shapes.

Spread glue on the cardboard surface. Stick the color pieces from your old magazines to fill in the shapes that you just drew. Do it until the entire surface of the cardboard is filled up with the colors. Leave the collage to dry then hang it on your wall.

Letter Collage

You can use the same technique to create some letter collages. You can make a name signboard for your child’s bedroom door or a decoration saying ‘Happy Birthday’ or ‘Happy New Year’. Draw the letters on a piece of posterboard. Spread glue over the letter and stick the color pieces on to cover the letter. Use different colored pieces to cover the background. Leave it to dry and then hang.

Alternatively you can also use a piece of posterboard for each letter. Use one color for each letter. For the background, use the same color for all cardboard pieces. Stick the letters on the wall. You can arrange them into a straight or curved line as you wish.
