My Three Favorite Finance Websites

The internet can be a great source for information about financial matters, if you know where to look. Whether you are looking for ways to save more and spend less or you need advice on a particular topic such as retirement planning or business finance you can find the information you need online. Choosing a finance themed blog or two to read on a regular basis can be a great way to boost your financial literacy, too.

Here are a few resources that I have found helpful for various financial topics:

Kiplinger’s Personal Finance – A very well established personal finance magazine which offers helpful articles on a huge array of topics from investing to family finance to retirement and everything in between. The information is presented in an accessible way, which is extremely important to me because the world of finance can seem like a foreign language if the person writing about it does not remember that not everyone knows what all of the financial terms mean.

The Dollar Stretcher – If you think that you have maxed out your frugal abilities, think again. This web site has so many amazing tips and tricks for frugal living that it sometimes makes my head spin. The content is so diverse and varied that there really is something (ok, a lot of somethings) on there for everyone. Whatever your income, age, occupation, living situation, and lifestyle, you can find ways to help your money go further and work harder for you.

Get Rich Slowly – I could read this blog for hours, and I have to limit myself to choosing only a post or two each time I visit so that I don’t end up wondering where my entire afternoon went. Perhaps the reason that I love it so is because J.D. Roth knows what it is like to dig oneself out of debt. There is something inspiring about hearing how other people with similar financial goals achieved them. There are also multiple writers who contribute to the site so the array of situations that they represent is also very helpful as far as providing information that people can relate to.

These three are just a handful of the wealth (no pun intended) of helpful finance web resources out there. What are your personal favorites?
