Transgenic Cow Makes Hypoallergenic Milk
Scientists have created a genetically altered cow hat produces milk that is hypoallergenic (in some ways, but not in others). Could this mean that, someday, we will have this type of milk on store shelves for people who have allergies to regular milk?

School for the Deaf Wins Tickets to Taylor Swift Concert
The Horace Mann School for the Deaf received $10,000 in musical instruments for it’s music program, and each student got a ticket for a Taylor Swift Concert. The school also got a $50,000 donation from Taylor Swift. The school was excluded from a contest due to pranksters, but ended up receiving more than the prize for the contest.

Eteplirsen Might Help Treat Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
An experimental drug called Eteplirsen might help boys who have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy to walk. The drug has not yet been approved by the Food and Drug Administration. A small study was done.

Be An Ice Cream Truck on Halloween
A father of a son who has spina bifida, and who uses a wheelchair, made an incredible Halloween costume for him. He was an ice cream truck for Halloween. There are links in the blog to where you can see a photo and a video of the costume. The blog also has tips for finding great Halloween costumes for kids who have sensory difficulties or allergies.

FDA Approves Liquid ADHD Medication
The Food and Drug Administration has approved of a liquid, extended release, ADHD medication called Quillivant XR. This could be really helpful for kids who have difficulty swallowing prescription medication that only comes in pill or capsule form. It isn’t on the market yet, but is expected to be available in January of 2013.
