Did you catch that title? “Football Star and Ex-Girlfriend…”
“Ex-girlfriend” being the operative word.
Call me old-fashioned, but when I learned that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and actress Bridget Moynahan were about to enter parenthood I thought I heard the names wrong.
Tom Brady? The same Tom Brady who just three months ago broke off his three-year relationship with the former model and star of the ABC drama “Six Degrees?” The same Tom Brady who started dating Brazilian-born supermodel Gisele Bundchen just before Christmas? That Tom Brady?
Apparently so. According to the New York Post, Moynahan’s rep confirmed that the 35-year-old actress is four months pregnant with Brady’s child. The paper reports that Moynahan is said to be “healthy and excited.” Meanwhile, a rep for the New England Patriots had no comment.
I can imagine they don’t. After all, prior to the pregnancy announcement Brady had been making headlines for romancing Leonardo DiCaprio’s ex-girlfriend in various locations around the world from New York to California, and most recently Paris.
According to PEOPLE magazine, the pair spent the weekend in the City of Light taking in a horse show in Versailles and having dinner at Bundchen’s favorite restaurant, Café de la Paix. In a previous blog I wrote about the budding romance between the Brady and Bundchen. In it I reported that the super model had eyes for Brady while he was dating Moynahan, but refused to make a move because in her words: “He’s cute, but if he has a girlfriend, he’s gay to me. There are too many men in the world to go after a man who has a woman. Life is too short.”
I wonder how Bundchen is taking the news that her new boyfriend is about to be a first-time daddy to his ex-girlfriend’s baby?
Is her gaydar going off now?
What’s more, how is Moynahan dealing with the fact that a few weeks after her three-year relationship ended with Brady he hooked up with a fellow model?
Then again, there are those who speculate that Moynahan could care less that the two split and that at 35 years old she’s just happy to be pregnant–with or without Brady in her life.
