October’s Issue of “The Ensign” to Address New Members

The October’s issue of “The Ensign” is a special issue dedicated to new members. This issue will discuss the many challenges that new members face as they join the church. It will include the normal sections of “The Ensign,” but they will all be focused on new members.

This will be a great tool for new members to learn more about the church. One section will include definitions of words. The language of the members of the church can be confusing to new members and nonmembers. When my grandfather was invited to his first activity at the church, he was invited to a dance at the stake house. He thought they meant a restaurant, and was rather surprised that they ended up at the church. It turned out okay though.

This issue will also address questions that new members often have after joining the church. It will discuss ways to answer family members’ questions about the church. It will share stories and experiences from others that converted to the gospel.

This section will also help long-standing members because it will address the needs that new members have. It can help the members to learn the best way to reach out and fellowship those that have just joined the church. It is also a great way to get to know a new member by dropping off a copy for her, and visiting for awhile.

If you are interested in ordering a gift subscription or stocking up to give these away as gifts you can order more at ldscatalog.com. This is great chance for every member to remember why the church is so important to him. Every member has a conversion story, even if she was born into the church. This will give you chance to reflect back and remember the events that led you to the church. I look forward to reading this issue.
