K’Nex has teamed up with Lincoln Logs! That is like the best peanut butter in the world and the best jelly in the world being on the same sandwich; only you get to build the sandwich according to your own imagination. K’nex is one of my favorite brands of building toys due to the quality and creative uses. Lincoln Logs would not be more fun, especially when teaching history. It may be an old fashioned toy that has delighted children for 100 years but I reckon building log cabins will delight for another 100 years.
When my daughter opened up a brand new set of Lincoln Logs she was thrilled. We have the White River Ranch set which comes with 90 pieces. She spent hours that afternoon playing with and recounting what she learned in history and read from her favorite Little House books. The set immediately drew the attention of my older children as well as my littlest one. So, there sat in my living room my 14, 12, 7 and 3 year old, playing along and building together. What could be more precious?
It goes without saying that Lincoln Logs has retained quality and to fallen into making a cheaper product at the same or higher price. The sets come full of pieces that inspire imagination and take the child back in time. You can buy multiple sets and recreate an entire village! I love sets that can build on one another or stand alone. I now have kids who all want more sets of Lincoln Logs. My 14 year old asked me to buy more sets for the younger girls because it keeps them busy and it is something she enjoys doing with them. Even or Barbies? That is high praise!
