Oprah Dissed By Tom-Kat

We may not know who is on the official Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes wedding extravaganza guest list, but we now know at least one mega-star who didn’t make the cut—Oprah Winfrey.

Winfrey tells TV’s “Extra,” that she will not be at the ceremony dubbed by the media as the “wedding of the century.”

“It’s not that I’m not going,” Winfrey said. “It’s that they had a limited number of people that they could invite. I was not one of the invitees. That’s fine. I don’t get invited to everyone’s wedding. I don’t invite them to everything I do. But I wish them the best.”

Okay, let’s think about this: The 15th-century Odescalchi Castle near Lake Bracciano – the likely venue for the weekend wedding– with its six towers, halls, gardens, and a chapel nearby, can host up to 1,400 guests. And, wasn’t it Oprah’s couch that Cruise famously jumped on to declare his love for Holmes? Yet, Winfrey still didn’t get an invite to the wedding? Hmm…

Personally, I had a relatively small wedding (less than 150 people), but unlike Cruise I am not a multi-millionaire so finances did factor into my affair. If I had as much money as Cruise and Holmes (by the way, I doubt that her family is keeping with tradition and footing the bill) I would have invited everyone I knew and then some… even you Oprah.

Apparently, there are no hard feelings because Winfrey went on to say that she still intends to send a wedding gift to the attractive couple. Asked what she’ll get the pair that seemingly has it all? Winfrey replied, “I don’t know! I was thinking … I’m easier (to shop for) – you can get me a bubble bath I’m okay – but I don’t know what to give them.”

How about a framed picture of yourself—they could put it at one of the guest tables and pretend that you shared in their big day?
