Our Baby Week in Review: Sept 3-8

Happy Saturday and welcome to a new feature here in the Baby blog where every Saturday we will try to encapsulate the last week so you can have a bird’s eye view of what was presented and what you may have missed. I look forward to your thoughts and comments as these week in reviews are written just for you.

September 3

On September 3, we brought you articles on baby showers, shower games and homemade baby gifts ideal for the expectant mother whether she is you or someone you know. For parents celebrating the birth of their baby on September 3, we gave you information including notable births and events that took place on the same day.

September 4

We spent some of our labor day off time talking about toddler temper tantrums and how to tame some of the negative behavior traits your toddler may exhibit. The toddler stage is a very exciting one and it involves a lot of exploration and self-definition by the child in your life. It can be tough at times, but it’s important to recognize that temper tantrums and learning to cope with them is a natural stage for both of you.

September 5

Tuesday morning found us talking about why we love our babies and 10 reasons why I love the toddler stage. It’s a time of great independence and exploration on the part of your baby. You’ll enjoy the naked joy with which they explore their world and how easy it is to smile when looking at the world through their eyes.

September 6

Hump day arrives and as a response to our 10 reasons why I love the toddler stage, I shared my 10 least favorite parts of toddler hood. Whether maintaining constant vigilance or struggling with their unhappiness at the slightest change in their life – the toddler stage is equal parts delightful and annoying. Just when you think you’ve got it down, your toddler will throw you a curve ball and teach you something new.

Thursday morning dawned with a discussion of the breast milk haves and have-nots followed up with Safety education through insurance companies and tips for buying a car seat to protect your most precious cargo in the vehicle.

September 8

We talked about teaching our toddlers how to pretend. The act of pretend play is vital to your child’s developing imagination and creativity. You can help to stimulate their learning how to pretend play in a variety of ways including one reader suggestion about leading through example and letting your child play with toys like a play cell phone to mimic mommy and daddy!
