Photo Sharing 2

Last time, we talked about sharing photos. This time, I will continue the subject and let you know of some more services that you may be interested in trying out. All these sites are free to use, they just require you to sign up. This isn’t a big deal, but if you’d rather not give out some basic information, maybe they are not for you.

We already covered the Snapfish and Epson sites. There are, however, many more sites available. Walgreens is a popular place to get your digital photos printed. They have photo-printing machines in their photo department. They also offer an online service. So do Walmart(email and password required), Target(I haven’t used them), Rite Aid, and RitzPIX photo.

There is another cool site called Photosite, which is free and you can share your photos (up to 100) with your friends and family. They have other options, too, for varying prices. For $1.99/month, you can have up to 1,000 photos on your site. For $4.99/month, you can have your own personal domain name and umlimited photos.

All these sites offer some similar services, and the prices are very reasonable. The best thing, I think, is that you can pay for photos online, and your relatives or friends can pick up the prints at their local corresponding store. This is great for sharing pictures of grandchildren or other special events.

Msn spaces combines photo sharing with a blog, lists of favorite things and music. If you want to share more than just photos, this may be an option. Another option is Geocities, which offers free web site hosting. You can set up your very own web site and share your photos through there. It’s not hard to set up your site this way. If you need help send me an email or private message, and I will be more than happy to help. I’ve used all the above services except for Ritz and Rite Aid.

Next, we’ll discuss how to download photos from your camera to your computer, and how to upload your photos to a web site (yours or a photo printing site).
