Photography Week in Review for September 10-16, 2007

With the fall season in full gear, at least here in the Midwest, my camera has been out a lot more often to capture natures changes, my children playing outdoors, and anything else my heart desires. I love to have my camera in hand, and I love to try to get that perfect shot. Sometimes I succeed, and other times I fail. But no matter what, the memory is captured and I can preserve it however I want. Here is what has been up in the Photography Blog this week.

Reasons To Use Digital Cameras At Your Wedding

I’m not sure digital cameras were even around when I got married. Just kidding. Half-kidding at least. I got married before the digital photography phenomenon evolved into the all-encompassing trend that it is today.

Cutting Edge Camcorders

Is there anyone who doesn’t have a camcorder these days? Take a trip to Hawaii or a local high school football game and you’d probably answer no. But, I have news for you. A recent study found that camcorder sales are down 6% from last year.

Cutting Edge Cameras and Accessories

Don’t blink or you’ll miss all the advances taking place in the world of photography. Tis the season for camera manufacturers to unveil new products they hope will be ready in time for the holiday shopping season.

What Size Camera Card Should I Use?

In today’s digital world, a camera card is simply a necessity. Most camera’s do allow storage on the actual camera, but it will not hold very many pictures. At this point, your option is a removable camera card.

Snap Tote – Putting Your Favorite Pictures on a Handbag

You have probably seen them around town. Those cute purses and totes that boast colorful pictures of puppies and kittens and everything else in between. Did you know that you can now get them with your own photographs printed on them? Introducing Snap Totes, the picture perfect handbags place.

Choosing the Right Camera Bag

In order to keep your camera safe and clean and protected from Mother Nature, you need to invest in a good camera bag. Camera bags come in many different shapes, sizes, colors and fabrics.

Protecting Your Camera From Mother Nature

Don’t leave home without your camera. How many times have you heard that reminder prior to leaving on vacation? Personally, my camera is one of the first items I pack. I don’t dare leave home without it.

More Common Sense Tips To Capturing A Frame-Worthy Picture

I caught the last few minutes of Oprah’s show yesterday when she was paying tribute to the children of the men and women who lost their lives during the 9/11 terror attacks. Show producers created a video montage of still photos the families had taken of their loved ones and set it to music.

Monday Photo Challenge: The Great Outdoors

These photo challenges have gotten me motivated to look around me and capture much more with my camera. In fact, last weeks challenge I have 187 photographs to sort through and see if any are good or not. Each Monday, I post a challenge that you can choose to do, or you can choose not to do.

Common Sense Tips To Capturing Frame-Worthy Pictures

My last blog entry while helpful (to some) was done a bit tongue-in-cheek. Let’s face it; every person wielding a camera is looking for that one great shot to admire for years to come. Whether it’s a brilliant Hawaiian sunset or your child’s first smile.

Photography Week in Review for September 3-9, 2007

Michele and I have gone “digital”. Well we went digital a long time ago, but we expressed to you all, how much more we enjoyed our film camera, than that of the current technology. However, we refocused our outlook and are providing you with dozens of articles on digital a week.

Snapping Keepers Of Your Kids

Taking pictures of your kids is one thing… finding ones that are worth keeping is an entirely different story… at least in my home. I’ve taken thousands of pictures of my daughter. I’m not kidding-thousands. Of those, I’d estimate only about half are worth showing off.
